“You have no…you have no…marbles! You have no marbles!” – Isuro Tanaka (Major League II)
Flyers lost to the Panthers 4-1 tonight. For the what seems like the millionth time this month, the team played with no spark, no energy, no balls. Not even FOUR FIGHTS could get this group moving. I can’t even complain about bad bounces or wasted opportunities, because there were none. Off the top of my head, the only dangerous looking shot actually ended up in the net. I feel bad for the fans that are stuck watching this group. They booed early, and often; and they should have.
This team, which on paper had so much promise before he season started, has become barely watchable. For those who are stuck going to games the rest of the season (I have tickets to 1 or 2 more games), there is something to look forward to: Ice Cream.
While the Wachovia Center has several ice cream choices, I prefer the vanilla ice cream, which is dipped in chocolate, and sits in a cone. it is pre-made, and pretty rock solid, so there’s no wait to for scooping or any other preparation. Here’s a picture I found online that looks similar. I don’t know what else we have to look forward to this season, aside from not embarrassing ourselves at the Winter Classic. For the record, I’m not leaving the bandwagon, I’ll keep watching, and cheering. I’m just slowing down to grab some dessert.
