Yesterday when I bitched about Bobrovsky getting a shutout, I didn’t mean for him to watch the other goalie do it. Unfortunately, the Flyers win streak was smacked in the face yesterday by Les Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge.
The referee’s made a bucnh of calls in Montreal’s favor! Yes, they penalty calls were very, very bad. But that didn’t seem to stop the Flyers.
Every shot was directly at Carey Price. That’s because he played incredible last night. He was in position, moved great, and saw everything. We didn’t crash the net or screen him enough. He got into rhythm and dominated last night.
The Flyers were coming off a game the night before, and the Canadiens were well rested. So what, this is the pro’s. There’s no sympathy coming from anyone. you must be ready to play every single game. And the Flyers didn’t really look that tired, they just didn’t play well. A 41-28 shot advantage doesn’t indicate that the Flyers were worn down.
Gionta, Plekanac, and Cammalleri were too good. Hell no, all of their goals could have been prevented. Fried squid scored on a 5 on 3 when Richards got out of position, which is rare. Plekanac snuck a shot past Bob who was expecting a pass. Gionta got a lucky bounce off of Timonen’s skate. They played well, but they didn’t exactly control the game.
Versus announcers are brutal. Yeah, they suck. Random phrases, stupid stories.
PK Subban is a bitch. Yes, he is. He showed his toughness when he threw a punch at Richards after the linesmen had Richie tied up. I’d love to see him drop the gloves and have a real fight. With anyone on the Flyers. I’m sure he’d get his ass beat by anyone on the team
The only bright spot from last night was when Powe took care of business. The Habs were getting antsy in their pantsy after he threw a few hard, clean hits. Lapierre decided it was time to stand up for the mighty midget society and dropped the gloves with Powe. Darrol threw down a Princeton sized ass whooping to defend his honor. Other than that, things just didn’t click. Yes, we got a ton of shots, as usual. And some of them really tested Price, making him move around a bit. But there just wasn’t enough pressure around the crease. The last game we set a bunch of high screens and got a few goals from deflections. Last night, guys stood next to Price and waved their sticks meekly at the puck. That just won’t get it done.
We’ll have a chance for some payback on Monday when Montreal comes to visit. And we won’t have to mute the damn TV because our fans don’t sing stupid “ole ole ole” like they’re at a freaking soccer game. And how about Montreal fans chirping near the ned with some “na na na, hey hey, goodbye” like they actually won something big. Short-term memory loss must be prevalent up in Quebec. They probably forgot this:
