Hello Flyers fans! I’ve recently been recruited to write about the Philadelphia Flyers here at Broad Street Buzz. I have been a Flyers fan since 2003 and a passionate hockey fan all my life. My home is in Kenora, Ontario and I’m sure you are wondering what a Flyers Fan is doing way up here. My connection to the Flyers is Mike Richards. Mike also comes from Kenora, Ontario. Kenora is a small town with a population of 15,000 people and it’s not often that a hockey superstar emerges from your hometown. Since Mike was drafted by the Flyers in 2003, I have followed his career and his team. Throughout the years, this team has gained my admiration and respect. Today this team consists of talented players, skill and a little bit of that “Broad Street Bullies” grit. This team has character and is always, although stressfull at times, so much fun to watch.
Hockey is my secret passion. My spare time is devoted to watching the Flyers play, or if they arn’t sceduled, any game will do. I have not been fortunate enough to see a Flyers game in person but try to never miss a game on my T.V. For 2.5 hours I put on my Flyers jersey and escape into the game. I’m excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to Broad Street Buzz and write about my favorite team. Thanks to social media, (Twitter) I’ve discovered there are passionate Flyers fans and hockey fans out there just like me! Stay tuned for more about the Flyers and remember: Be kind to one another hockey fans!
