Yes, the Flyers lost 5-0 to the Panthers last night. Trap game? Maybe. But before they finally run away to open present boxes filled with skate warmer’s, Russian-English dictionary’s, and Sing-a-ma-jig’s, they have one more show to put on. Tonight, 17,000 free tickets have been given out for the teams skills competition.
Fastest skater: Well I remember in the preseason there were reports of Carter blowing people away during skating drills. Powe is the darkhorses, but I’m sticking with Carts.
Hardest shot: Even if Pronger were able to participate, I don’t think he’d win. My money goes with LeClair Meszaros.
Accuracy shooting: The popular answers are Briere or Giroux. But for some reason I have a feeling somebody else gets this. Maybe Leino.
Puck control relay: This is definitely a Giroux event. Dangling around cones, he’s almost a sure bet for this one. Zherdev has a shot here too.
Goalie: This is usually determined based on a few events. Even though Bobrovsky has struggled in games over the last few weeks, I think he wins this.
I’m not going to make it, so hopefully they televise it. These things are pretty cool, possibly more exciting than All-Star Games. Anyone who’s interested should definitely check it out.
