Thrasher Bashing On Tap Tonight

After blowing the 3-0, third period lead, and losing in overtime, we play Atlanta again.  Anybody really remember that game? Nope, didn’t think so. We won, but we didn’t destroy. Tonight, we look for some real revenge.Thrasher Backer begs the question, “Over it yet Philly?” I think no! We went something like 10 years without losing to Atlanta, until last season.  All of a sudden, they got on their high horse and started fighting back. Tonight, it’s time to end all of that.

Mathematically, the Thrashers still hold out hope to make the playoffs. A regulation loss destroys that dream. But I don’t just want to win. I want to win big. I want to run up the score, like the Blues did to Detroit last night. Partially, it’s about embarrassing this team after they made us look bad. And partially, it’s about giving other teams, especially potential playoff opponents something to think about.

The formula for success isn’t too hard to figure out.  Play the way you did against Washington last week and Pittsburgh two nights ago.  That’s the type of dominant hockey that fun to watch, and brings us W’s.  I think the Flyers will begin to bring it against every opponent from now on, not just the big rivals.
