Dreaming Of What Could Have Been

I like to dream yes, yes, about what could have been 
If the Flyers had put up a fight
Not disappeared into the night
Moved on, fought hard, to the Finals away from reality here

Well, you don’t know what could have been
Why don’t you come daydream with me
On a magic carpet ride
You don’t know what they could have done
If they hadn’t lost but won
Fantasy is all we have
Close your eyes y’all
Imagine it all
Let your dreams take you away

Richards could have held the Cup
I wish it could have been that way
But that’s not what’s meant to be
Boston came and took that dream away
I looked around, next year’s all I found

Well, we’ll never know what could have been
If we hadn’t choked and played like girls
And went on another playoff ride
Wait til next year is what we hear and see
But that’s not good enough for me
Could have been in Vancouver
Seasons still over
We have to, look inside now
Never again let someone take our Stanley Cup dreams away
