Quick Postgame Thoughts: Flyers 3:2 Sabres

Courtesy: Bill Wippert

We had a ton of jump early. Miller played like crap. We took advantage with 3 goals in the first 7 minutes, and the Sabres couldn’t complete the comeback. End of story.

My only cause of concern was the penalties.  It’s hard to keep up the fast pace that we came out with in the early part of the game. So when things got tighter as the first period ended, I wasn’t bothered.  But when they gave up 4 powerplays in the 2nd, that completely killed their momentum. They didn’t give up goals, but they were prevented from having a consistent attack. By the time the third period rolled around, the Flyers were in shutdown mode. Come back tomorrow for a few deeper thoughts.
