Flyers Winter Classic Jersey Revealed

I thought this wasn’t happening until Black Friday, but the Winter Classic jerseys were revealed today. And they look a bit similar to our current jerseys.

Maybe it’s just me, but the shade of orange looks a little bit different. Aside from that, you can see all of the differences from our current jersey on the left, and the Winter Classic one on the right. There’s a mixed reaction because people wanted something more creative, or something very different. I like it because it’s simple. I’m not that picky as long as the logo is left along. They can do whatever they want, mixing any combination of orange and black, and I’ll be fine with it.

Since 1994-95, when I’ve watched hockey, I’ve seen the jersey evolve a number of times. And I’ve been a fan of almost every change.  The only one I hated was the 2002-07 orange third jersey. They messed with the logo. Don’t ever touch the logo. It’s perfectly fine the way it is. Mess with the shoulders, or the name plates, or the font and I won’t really mind.

I believe that Pronger’s “C” will be inside of a keystone shape on his jersey. That’s a cool touch for the Classic. I’m not sure if I like that too much on an everyday basis if this jersey becomes the norm next season. But it’s not that big of a deal really. So good job, Flyers.
