Flyers-Canadiens Set For Black Friday Matinee

For the second time this season, the Flyers face the Montreal Canadiens. Last time didn’t go so well, as the Habs walked away with an easy 5-1 win. This time around, we’re hoping fortune favors our boys a bit more.

As up and down as their season has been so far, Montreal is only 4 points behind the Flyers. That’s not bad considering that they started the season with one win in their first 8 games. In their last 7, they have fallen into the win-lose-win-lose pattern. If it keeps up, we’ll be skating away with the two points.

We know it probably won’t be a cakewalk for us. Jagr and Pronger are out. That won’t help a team that seems to always play like crap when the sun is out. If they do lose, they can’t use the start time as an excuse. If every other team can show up to play, why can’t we?

It’s going to be crucial to get on the board first because Montreal struggles in the goal scoring department.  Their defense and goaltending is top notch, however. They are pretty much the same team we’ve seen over the past few seasons. They skate hard, and rely on everyone to chip in a bit. So it’s going to take a full team effort to beat them. Throwing our weight around never hurts, either.

A lot of people are doing a lot of shopping today. Supplies are limited, so unfortunately, not everyone will get what they’re standing in line for. Let’s hope today turns out to be a nice Orange and Black Friday, with the Canadiens left with nothing to show for their trip down to South Philly.
