With Giroux possibly out, Flyers face a tough test against Capitals

Testing the defense

In their last three games the Caps have scored a combined 13 goals (2-1 record) and just because they are currently 8th in the conference don’t let that fool you, this is still a team that can go off at any time. Ovechkin is capable of an ovechtrick, ovechtrick, ovechtrick!(Come on had to do it.)  Alexander Semin still has to get going and he would love to do it against the Flyers. Don’t forget about Nicklas Backstrom who currently leads the Caps with 31 points.

Dating back to last season and including the game this season the Capitals have a 3-0-2 record against Philly with 19 goals scored. Currently Washington is 9th in the league in goals scored. This game is going to feature a goalie change somewhere along the way.

Prediction - As crazy as it sounds the I’m picking the Flyers to win their 6th straight and beat a pretty good Capitals team that is still adjusting to a new coaching style. The rest of the lineup will find a way to put goals on the board even if Giroux can’t play. I expect Jagr to have another game where you have to answer the question from an unknowing fan, how old is this guy again? Flyers 5 Caps 3.

What do you guys think of the Flyers chances without Giroux? Tweet me @Scottdargis and let me know. Watch hockey!
