Hot Panthers Visiting Hotter Flyers

The Florida Panthers are coming to town, bringing their 4 game win streak with them. They are desperate to get wins to ensure that they win their pathetic division and get a playoff spot. Before we get to worried about facing a hot team, let’s point out that they’ve beaten Buffalo, Carolina and Toronto in that stretch. Those are three teams currently not in the playoffs. They also beat Boston, although the Bruins were in the midst of a bad stretch of games. The last time Florida faced anybody good, they lost on back to back nights to us, 5-0, and Pittsburgh, 2-1(SO).

No matter what, I just have a hard time taking the Panthers seriously. When they started off hot, I thought it was a fluke. When guys like Kris Versteeg were scoring at a decent pace, I thought it was a fluke. Anytime they beat good teams, I think it’s a fluke. However, just because I feel like that, doesn’t mean the Flyers should take this team lightly. We’ve got our own things we’re trying to achieve, and giving up easy points would be stupid. We’re coming off a very emotional win, so I’m really hoping there is no let down tonight.

Here are your keys to the game: IT’S THE FLORIDA PANTHERS, JUST BEAT THEM! We have more talent, we have more grit, we finally have goaltending as good as anyone else. This is the exact type of game that we can only lose if we don’t show up and give a full effort. Let’s go Flyers!
