So after being teased by the NHL with a 50/50 split proposal last week, we are still in lockout mode and it is not good. With it almost being November, lots of fans are very frustrated with how the negotiating has been going. Bettman initially wanted this proposal so that a full season could occur, but when the player’s association just continued to argue and the two couldn’t agree, it became obviously that an 82 game season was not possible.
Apparently the commissioner did not think that was obvious to everybody, as it has officially been announced that there will mostly likely not be an 82 game season. Thanks captain obvious, everyone knew that already. Rumor via Twitter is saying that the league is actually going to announce tomorrow that they are withdrawing the 50/50 proposal, so they are pretty much taking a step backwards.
It seems that the only good news that has been coming out of this lockout is bad news, and all fans are frustrated over this current situation. So whatever team you root for you are not alone in your frustration. We are all going through this and are tired of hearing news about nothing and not seeing hockey on our tv sets. I for one am sick of watching Oil Change. I get it already NHL network, but I would like to see some fall 2012 games now. Hell at this point I’ll take 2013 winter games.
