Phantoms return to PA

Flyers fans are also avid fans of the AHL affliate, which is no surprise since they played right next to each other for several years. I few years back the Phantoms changed their city and added purple into their uniform. Now they’ll be changing their city and switching the purple for some blue.

The Brooks Brothers who own the Phantoms and moved them to Glen Falls, NY always intended to bring them back to Pennsylvania. And now they are in the process of bringing them to Lehigh Valley.  The team was supposed to move at the start of next season but due to leases and legal issues they won’t move until the 2014-2015 season.

But they still have some work to do, like building the arena that the team will play at. A few days ago they even broke ground at the location to start building the arena. It’s a good thing for Flyers fans, especially since Allentown is a better commute than a 3 hour drive to upstate New York.

The Phantoms will also not be named the Adirondack Phantoms, but rather the Lehigh Valley Phantoms to reflect the entire region.
