Will there be a season?

NHL fans did not get their holiday gift wishes this year since the NHL is still in a lockout. Last week it was even announced that the league is cancelling games up until January 14th. This does not bode well for fans and many fans are just done with the NHL.

The way the two parties have been behaving is unacceptable. Fans are giving up on the teams they love and the league they are in. Most fans still love the game so they’re focusing on minor league or local teams to show their support to. They obviously need it more than the millionaires in the NHL.

The NHLPA also have been given permission to file a disclaimer of interest which means they can dissolve the player’s association. In English, that means that the NHLPA are planning to file a lawsuit against the NHL to claim that the lockout is illegal. They haven’t filed this yet but the NHL have also filed a suit to claim that the lockout IS legal and to claim an unfair labor practice charge against the NHLPA.

So essentially it’s only a matter of time before they announce a cancellation of the whole season, because these two are going to continue to insult fans by battling out the rest of the season in court.
