Phantoms take Senators

There has been a lot of talk about the NHL since the lockout started, which is really exciting, but we here at Broad Street Buzz what to continue to update you about the Adirondack Phantoms.

5 Phantoms went to the Flyers training camp. Already Tye McGinn has been sent back and it’s might be possible that 2012 first round draft pick Scott Laughton might make the team.

Last weekend the Phantoms won in a shootout on Friday 3-2 against the Binghamton Senators. There was no scoring in the first period. Then in the second period the Phantoms got on board first with a goal by Ford early on and then a goal from Manning at the half way point. The Senators were able to bring it back shortly afterward with game tieing goals from Wiercioch and Borowiecki.

Again there was no scoring in the third which led to a five minute overtime period. The overtime period also went scoreless so this led to a shootout round.  The Phantoms were able to come out on top by winning the shootout round.
