Phantoms downed by Crunch

The Phantoms haven’t been having a great season. They’re 4-5-1 in their last ten and only have 41 points. They also are last in both their division and the Eastern Conference.

Their game against the Syracuse Crunch last Friday reflected off their poor record as they were defeated 4-2.

The Crunch and the Phantoms really hate each other as evident by there being a fight in every period of this game.

The first fight occurred immediately after the Crunch’s Mike Angelidis scored the first goal of the game. The fight was between Zach FitzGerald and Neilson.

Brett Connolly increased the Crunch’s lead to two, early in the second but the Phantoms cut the lead in half with a goal from FitzGerald. He got into it again with Eric Neilson halfway into the period; however, the Phantoms looked like they were turning the game around when David Laliberte tied up at 2.

Richard Panik broke the tie to give the Crunch the one goal lead and half way into the last period, a third fight broke out. This time, the fight was between Ian Slater and Danik Gauthier. The Phantom’s Erik Gustafsson also got an unsportsmanlike misconduct.

The Crunch sealed their win with three minutes left in the game when Connolly scored the 4th goal.
