Adirondack Phantoms in last place

If you weren’t depressed about the state of things in Philadelphia sports, you better start getting depressed about the Philadelphia Flyers‘ farm team in Glen Falls, NY.

The Adirondack Phantoms are just as bad as their NHL affiliate this season. No, they are actually worst, because at least the Flyers are not in last place.

No exaggeration the Phantoms are in the last place in the American Hockey League (AHL). Their poor record of 23-31-2 doesn’t just put them just in last place of the Eastern Conference, but in the last place in the entire league.

Yup, they are that bad this year.

So it really shouldn’t be a surprise that the Flyers are doing badly either. It’s a trickle down effect, especially when the Flyers keeps swapping out AHL players to try to do something to save their season. The Phantoms are so terrible this season. Even though they have a lot of good young players with a lot of potential, like the Flyers, they just aren’t gelling this season.

Since we last recapped their victory against the Binghamton Senators, they went on to drop their next three games.  They did get two victories in, over the The Springfield Falcons and the Connecticut Whale, but then they lost to the Albany Devils on Sunday in a shootout round. In their most recent game, they were routed by the Portland Pirates in a 6-3 hockey game.

There is no coming back for the Phantoms this season. They have a lot of issues, and even though they had a coaching change this season, they really shouldn’t be this bad.
