Flyers Set Opening Night Roster

The Flyers have announced the official starting roster for the season opener tomorrow. Seeing as how they recently signed Hal Gill, I’d imagine that someone might be dropped from the roster to make room for an 8th defenseman. That person would probably end up being Jay Rosehill, since he doesn’t bring much to the game other than his fists (and Rinaldo could easily fill that role if need be).

The Flyers have until 5:00PM today to make any changes and this post will be updated if anything changes.

#10 – Brayden Schenn
#14 – Sean Couturier
#17 – Wayne Simmonds
#19 – Scott Hartnell
#21 – Scott Laughton
#24 – Matt Read
#25 – Max Talbot
#28 – Claude Giroux
#36 – Zac Rinaldo
#37 – Jay Rosehill
#40 – Vincent Lecavalier
#93 – Jakub Voracek

#5 – Braydon Coburn
#8 – Nicklas Grossmann
#22 – Luke Schenn
#26 – Erik Gustafsson
#32 – Mark Streit
#41 – Andrej Meszaros
#44 – Kimmo Timonen

#29 – Ray Emery
#35 – Steve Mason

Forward Adam Hall and defenseman Bruno Gervais have been loaned to the club’s AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.

Chris Pronger has been placed on Injured Reserve, while Marc-Andre Bourdon is among the non-roster injured players.
