Despite his struggles, I believe Giroux has still been one of the Flyers best players this season.  With eight points, Giroux is tied for the team lead in points.  He is winning faceoffs at a respectable clip of 50.5% and plays in all game situations.  His 22:15 per game leads the team in ice time while he also logs hard PK minutes (1:46/game) and is the team leader in PP time (4:31/game).  Through all of the early season struggles Giroux has given 100% every game.  The teams’ reaction after his goal on Saturday speaks volumes to his effectiveness as team captain.  All things considered, Giroux has been a top five player on this team because he is tied for the team lead in points and is the heart and soul of the team.
