The Olympics are a blast. I love supporting Team USA in each and every sport. Hockey is no exception. But hockey is a little tough, because guys I can’t stand as a Flyers fan are now on my team. It sickened me to have to root for Eastern Conference rivals Dan Bylsma, Brooks Orpik, Ryan Miller and Ryan Callahan. It was for a greater cause, that being national pride and a gold medal (and it’s only two weeks every four years…I can deal with that). But it was still hard.
Well boys and girls, life is good. Because we can go back to hating everyone again!
We can hate Bylsma, Orpik and Paul Martin because they’re from that terrible city of Pittsburgh.
Ryan Miller, not so much because the Sabres are just god awful.
Patrick Kane still should have been a Flyer so I can go back to hating him for no reason for that. Which also means I can hate James van Riemsdyk for being a Flyer and for Paul Holmgren trading him too early, which makes no sense but who cares about logic, he’s a Maple Leaf.
(I actually like Kane a lot more after these Olympics).
Phil Kessel? Your sister’s hot. Otherwise, you suck.
Ryan Kesler can go back to diving.
Max Pacioretty is a liar because he plays for the Montreal Canadiens and can’t possibly be American. So he’s dumb.
And Joe Pavelski, you’re the worst one tonight because the Flyers play the Sharks tonight. And Pavelski is a San Jose Shark. So Pavelski, BOOOOOOO.
It’s back to the ice for the Philadelphia Flyers tonight for the final 23 games of the season. And with the Flyers being in the third playoff spot in an extremely tight Metropolitan Division, if you’re not in orange and black, you’re an enemy, regardless of whether you played for Team USA.
And that’s the way it should be.
