Philadelphia Flyers Fans: Hockey Is Still Awesome

I made it. I think.

It looks like everything is okay. The earth still exists. Food is still processed chemically. Obama is still president (damn). My name is Brian Nestel. Everything is as it was almost a month ago.

I haven’t posted since the Flyers lost in seven games to the New York Rangers because I immediately buried myself in anticipation of the end of the world. And, well, the world moves on as I am pleasantly surprised.

On my first log in to the internet since my self-imposed hibernation, I came across a video about hockey. And it has all of the emotions packed in one nine minute package filled with hits, tears, excitement and passion.

Check it out for yourself below. Even though the Flyers aren’t in the playoffs, hockey is still awesome. It includes teams raising the cup, fans teary eyed after a loss, teams giving fans opportunities of a lifetime, and as the video shows, hope. Basically it’s everything a Flyers fan knows and understands, minus the whole raising the Stanley Cup thing…

At any rate, check this out.

Awesome, right? Give credit to creator Janne Makkonen for a fantastic job.

So I’m watching hockey. Because hockey is awesome. And nothing beats the playoffs.

Let’s see, who’s on tonight….Oh my God it’s the Montreal Canadiens against the New York Rangers?! And tomorrow Los Angeles Kings versus Chicago Blackhawks. Back to the bunker! I was right! The world is ending!

h/t to Puck Daddy for originally finding this video.
