After one accomplishes something of importance, one of the first people we tell is our dad. Whether it’s that we got a new job, scored a goal in a video game, or got an A on our science test, we tell them everything. Heck, I would call my dad after school while he was at work just to say I caught the ball during schoolyard football.

The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup last night 3-2 in 2OT thanks to a goal from Alec Martinez. After the dog pile, the handshakes and every emotion that immediately follows winning the hardest trophy to win in sports, the Kings Tyler Toffoli was interviewed by Scott Oake of CBC.

He spent the interview on the phone with his dad. Check it out below.

How cool is that? The 22-year-old Toffoli shouting to his dad in sheer excitement. We can only imagine how the reaction on the other side of the phone was.

And with Father’s Day coming up Sunday, what a perfect gift to give by winning the Stanley Cup.
