Heading down to the 2014 NHL Draft at the Wells Fargo Center tonight? If so, it may be smart to head down early. The Flyers and XFINITY Live! are hosting a Fan Fest for all ages from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
Coolest thing they’ll have down in the parking lot there? A full size rink equipped with sticks, balls and net for pickup hockey. Count me in. They’ll also have a set up to test how hard you can shoot a puck, as well as stick-handling and accuracy challenges.
Kids can enjoy the inflatables that will be set up, such as an obstacle course, moon bounce and a giant slide (!!!). There will also be an arcade available for kids to win prizes (can I be a kid? I like prizes…).
Comcast SportsNet will be at the event with giveaways. There will also be live entertainment on the stage.
Wells Fargo Center will open gates at 5 p.m. Once inside, NHL trophies will be on display on the main concourse. There will also be a trading card show presented by Upper Deck starting at 5 p.m. This too will be on the main concourse.
The first round will begin at 7 p.m. tonight. Rounds 2-7 will take place from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Fan Fest will continue into Saturday, with the same attractions, starting from 8 a.m. and finishing up at 2 p.m.
This is the first time Philadelphia has hosted the NHL Draft. All free tickets to all rounds of the draft have been distributed.
