The NHL playoff party continues with our Eastern Conference picks, from a Philadelphia Flyers fan perspective

The NHL Stanley Cup playoffs begin tonight, and it makes me happy to say that the Philadelphia Flyers will be participating this year. The Flyers don’t begin their series with the Washington Capitals until tomorrow, but several series begin tonight. After previously posting our Western Conference picks, now we’ll move on to the East.

Our preview images will sum basic stats rundown for each team, as well as injuries. Additionally, it will list the “PHSI” metric that we wrote about the other day. To sum up, PHSI ranks teams based on penalty kill, total goal difference, Corsi percentage in close game situations, and team save percentage, because those stats tend to predict playoff success moreso than other stats.
