Philadelphia Flyers Prospect D Philippe Myers to Memorial Cup Final

Rising Philadelphia Flyers defense prospect Philippe Myers will play for the Memorial Cup title on Sunday afternoon.

Philippe Myers and the Rouyn-Norando Huskies of the QMJHL advanced to the Memorial Cup final last night after beating the Red Deer Rebels 3-1. The Huskies jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, and held on for the win.

Individually, Myers finished the game +1 with 3 shots. With the win, Myers avenges Ivan Provorov, whom was eliminated by Red Deer earlier this week.

Highlights of the game can be seen here.

The finals will take place on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 EST between the Huskies and the London Knights. London steamrolled their way to the finals, winning 3 round-robin games by a combined score of 20-4. They are led by Mitch Marner, who was taken with the #4 pick in last years NHL draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Marner tallied 13 points in those 3 games.
