Philadelphia Flyers Development Camp Set

The Philadelphia Flyers development camp for prospects is set to open July 7, but a few notable names will be absent

This afternoon the Philadelphia Flyers announced that their annual development camp will open on July 7 in New Jersey. The camp will last 5 days, and will feature 34 Flyers prospects.

Big names from past drafts such as Travis Sanheim, Ivan Provorov, Samuel Morin and Travis Konecny will all participate. They will be joined by 2016 Flyers draft picks such as Pascal Laberge and Carter Hart.

A few names, however, will be absent. The Flyers’ 2016 first round pick, German Rubtsov, is not on the camp roster. This is due to the fact that he is currently under contract with the KHL.

The other notable absence from the camp will be defenseman Philippe Myers. To refresh your memory, Myers was an undrafted free agent whom had a major breakout year in the QMJHL.

Myers was injured in the final game of the Memorial Cup a few weeks back, which is presumably the reason that he will not appear.

All on-ice activities of the camp will be open to the public for free. For the schedule of activities and complete roster of 34 players, check the Philadelphia Flyers website.
