Philadelphia Flyers Daily: Flyers Vs Senators.
The Philadelphia Flyers enter Tuesday as game winners of three of their last five games and two of their last three games played.
Following a .500 road trip, our Philadelphia Flyers are back at home at the Wells Fargo Center taking on a playoff-bound Senators’ team.
Coach Dave Hakstol on the Flyers’ last three games of the road trip: “Rock-solid team efforts, start to finish.”
“We could have won every game” on the trip, “even that one in Winnipeg, where we didn’t quite have it,” said left winger Jordan Weal –Sam Carchidi Philly.com
The Senators and Flyers meet for the third and final time in this 2016/17 season; both teams having taken 3-2 wins from each other this year and both in extra time. This season series has been tight.

After an emotional win in Pittsburgh on Sunday, defeating the rivaled Pens 6-2, it will be interesting to see what Flyers teams comes to play. Remember last week when Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh 4-0 and then laid an egg the next night losing 6-2 to a New Jersey team that had previously lost 10 straight hockey games. It’s just been that kind of season for the boys in Orange and Black.
Claude Giroux has returned to his normal scoring ways, adding 10 points in his last 11 played. Sean Couturier has been filling the back of the net since Valterri Filppula has joined the club, scoring 11 points in his 12 games. Filppula allows Couturier and Giroux to have another top six center to balance out the lineup, giving the Flyers three solid lines which all have support in the middle of the ice.
Even after a respectable road trip, playoff hockey still seems very unlikely for this club, which is still six points back, with the season ticking down to only seven games left on the schedule.
