Drafted in the second round, Pascal Laberge was a skilled, two-way forward at the time of his selection. He had a breakout second season in the QMJHL. For the Victoriaville Tigres, Laberge posted 23 goals and 68 points. That was 36 points better than the previous year. So he was flying high before the Flyers drafted him.

Set for a big third season, Laberge was the victim of a cheap shot early in the season that caused a serious concussion. He missed over a month of action, a total of 16 games. After returning from the injury, it was still a solid year for Laberge. He collected 12 goals and 32 assists in 46 games.

He appeared back to his normal self during his last junior season in 2017-18. Between the Tigres and Quebec, Laberge posted 17 goals and 47 points. He made his AHL debut at the end of that season, skating in two games.

Set up for his first official season in the AHL, Laberge wouldn’t even begin the season on the ice. During training camp, Laberge left practice early and wouldn’t return. It turned out to be serious as he would later undergo hip surgery to rectify the issue. He would not be activated from the injured reserve list until February.

He suited up for 15 games in the AHL, grabbing five goals and six assists. He spent this last season between the AHL and ECHL. The numbers were decent with both squads. For the Phantoms, he posted seven goals and 10 assists in 23 games. For the Reading Royals, he collected six goals and 12 points.

It has been a rough time for Laberge the last few seasons. The hit he took back in juniors had a long-lasting effect on him. He did sign an entry-level contract after being drafted. After the first two years slid down, he has one year remaining on the contract.
