Analyzing the Philadelphia Flyers Salary Cap: The Defensemen

The list of prospects close to making the jump is much shorter on the defensive side. There is really only one name that has a shot at making the team out of camp. There is another name to keep an eye on in the near future as well.

Mark Friedman ($725,000)
Egor Zamula ($756,667)

Friedman is on the cusp of an NHL roster spot after spending some time with the Flyers the last two seasons. And Zamula could become another diamond in the rough player, similar to how Myers developed. But after coming off of back surgery, he’ll spend some time in the AHL to get used to the professional game first.

Names like Cam York, Wyatte Wylie, Mason Millman, etc could all also find their way to the Flyers someday as well. Hitting on even just a few of their young defensive prospects will go a long way.
