Flyers fans should be heartened by the results in season marred by bizarre covid related circumstances.  Andrae was the loan blemish from the 2020 draft class.  Even as a no fan of Andrae’s selection, it is too early to give up entirely (says the guy who is still waiting on Nolan Patrick). With HV71 demoted to the second league, it seems Andrae will spend the year playing lesser competition. This is not going to help his development. This situation creates reason for concern, and the front office may be considering offering him a pro contract to try to develop him in the AHL.

Wisdom and Foerster could have, understandably, struggled mightily in the AHL, but were able to produce even with a few rough patches. This is good news for the organization, and it keeps the pipeline of nearly ready useful forward talent close to full.

Both of the prospects in the Canadian Junior ranks took steps forward and seem to be maximizing their chances to advance in the organization. Fifth and sixth round picks are long shots to make the big club in the best of circumstances. The fact that both players have made the odds shorter speaks to the value of those picks.

There is still plenty of time for all of the players mentioned above to develop. But for most, it was a solid opening season as Flyers prospects.
