As I said, I am not a fan of taking a pure winger here at 13, though there is some talent. Fabian Lysell and Matt Coronato have both been linked to the Flyers, and while their goal scoring is certainly eye-catching, they don’t have much that pushes them high on my list of available players. My only real exception to the “no-wingers” rule would be Dylan Guenther, though he is unlikely to fall to the Flyers.

The most interesting position, and the one I think the Flyers will end up taking, is the centerman position, which is likely going to have a ton of available talent at 13, especially if a few players drop. Speaking of drop, I am totally enamored with Kent Johnson, a center who will likely go way before 13, but I think may become the most talented player from this draft if he can put on the muscle.

Other players the Flyers have been linked to at this position are Cole Sillinger and Fyodor Svechkov, though I personally am not a huge fan of Svechkov. Sillinger on the other hand is an incredible talent that I would be more than happy with to have on the Flyers. Sillinger I think is the most likely selection if he is available at 13 like is expected, and he would certainly add some great organizational depth.

However a forward that I think has a very interesting case is Aatu Räty, who was previously mocked to go in the top three before a rough season this past year. Drafting a forward with confidence issues is always a risk, but Räty has so many tools that make me really wonder if taking a flyer on him could be a really smart move.

Chaz Lucius is also a name I have heard thrown around in certain circles, and he would provide something interesting to the Flyers. A pure goal-scorer could be a good add, but he tends to be pretty rough around the edges in his own zone, something that could prove the kiss of death for a center.

Prospects are always a bit of a roll of the dice, and everyone has tons of different things they look for in the draft. So I’d love to hear some of your opinions on who the Flyers should draft when they select at 13th overall this Friday, assuming Chuck doesn’t make some more crazy moves.
