Provorov’s Overtime Winner Lifts Flyers To 2-1 Victory Over Bruins

– Keith Yandle once again was really, really good offensively, especially on the power play. He made crisp passes, he was smart with and without the puck, and earned an assist on Sean Couturier’s power play marker. Yandle has continually been one of the Flyers’ better defensemen this preseason.

– Carter Hart looked fantastic tonight. He ended up with 24 saves on 25 shots in the game and also went a perfect 3-for-3 in the shootout. He looked calm and positionally

looked very good in his crease. The hopes for a bounce-back season for Hart are very high and so far, there’s no reason for concern about it.

– Elliot Desnoyers made some noise in his first preseason game. He was skating well and was very involved throughout the game, and he also dropped the gloves with Boston’s John Moore and got the better of him too. Desnoyers likely won’t be with the Flyers this season but he certainly made an impression.

– Travis Konecny was buzzing in this one. He was all over the ice tonight helping create offense and was very noticeable. He also got the game-winning helper on Ivan Provorov’s overtime goal. #11 also scored the lone goal in the shootout, and seems to be his old self once again.

The Flyers are back at it again tomorrow night as they’ll take on the New York Islanders at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Philadelphia will be looking to win their third straight preseason game and will also look for some revenge on the Islanders, who beat the Flyers in the overtime in their first matchup of the preseason.
