– Nate Thompson was very involved in tonight’s game, especially with his body. He was physical as usual and worked hard along the boards, and he’ll likely have the inside track on being Philadelphia’s fourth-line center on opening night with what he brings to the lineup.

– Martin Jones was stupendous tonight while playing behind a team of mostly bottom-six and AHL-bound players. He made plenty of spectacular saves to give the Flyers a fighting chance, which is really encouraging heading into the regular season next week.

– Tyson Foerster had himself another impressive game. While he didn’t get on the scoresheet, he was buzzing again with that powerful shot he possesses and had Cory Schneider on the ropes a couple times. While Foerster probably won’t start out with Philadelphia, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get an audition with the big club if he can keep up the strong play with Lehigh Valley.

– Nicolas Aubé-Kubel was very noticeable tonight. He was making good plays, he was physical, and he seemed to be the NAK we were accustomed to seeing in 2020. It was definitely a good sign and hopefully he can keep it up going into the regular season.

The Flyers will wrap up their preseason slate on Friday night when they roll into our nation’s capital to face off against the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena. The team will likely announce the bulk of their final cuts on Thursday, so their finale will consist of what will probably be their opening night roster next week.
