Philadelphia Flyers Can Break Tampa Bay’s Winning Streak
The Philadelphia Flyers are on a roll and might have a chance to keep it going.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are on a winning streak and the Philadelphia Flyers are going to look to stop it. The team had an impressive win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Flyers defensemen Radko Gudas managed to put up four points during the course of the game. They’re on a six game homestand and so far their record stands at 4-1-0. They have the chance to add a fifth win to the column when they take on the Tampa Bay Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center. The Lightning has a nine game win streak on their hands and it would be beneficial to the Flyers’ season if it was stopped. The Flyers are aware of the standings and it is going to be important to take all the points available. Find out what is at stake for the Flyers in Sunday’s edition of Buzz on the Street.

Philadelphia Flyers Need Win Over Lightning
Sam Carchidi for Philadelphia Inquirer
About two weeks ago, winger Jake Voracek said the Flyers needed to get at least 10 points on their season-long six-game homestand if they wanted to stay afloat in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Based on Voracek’s math, the Flyers – 4-1 in their recent Wells Fargo Center games – need to finish the homestand by beating surging Tampa Bay on Monday. “Jakey’s a smart guy with numbers,” goalie Steve Mason cracked Sunday after optional practice in Voorhees. The speedy Lightning will bring a franchise-record nine-game winning streak into the game.
Philadelphia Needs to Focus on Standings
Jeff Neiburg for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia
This time of year, everyone is aware of what’s going on around the league and in the standings, Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said after Saturday night’s 6-0 win over Columbus. They’re all aware of the records and the point totals. Claude Giroux said earlier in the week it’s tough not to scoreboard watch. It’s just the nature of the playoff chase. But figuring out how many wins you’ll need over a certain stretch to keep pace isn’t the easiest of tasks. Some teams have a game in hand on another.

Who Will Be the Flyers’ MVP?
Sam Carchidi for Philadelphia Inquirer
With five weeks left in the regular season, the Flyers have 18 games to show whether they belong in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Those 18 games will also help determine the team’s MVP, which is too close to call at the moment. Below are my leading candidates, in order. But, remember, things could change dramatically by the time the regular season ends April 10 against the New York Islanders in Brooklyn.
