General Manager Ron Hextall may be busy working the phones over the next 15 days but the players on the list won’t be going anywhere.

The Philadelphia Flyers won’t be in any hurry to trade away any of the following forwards at this years trade deadline. The Philadelphia Flyers who struggle to score want to add, not subtract from their top six. Four of the players on the list are the Flyers’ four top scorers. Every player on the list is under the age of 30, making this the Philadelphia Flyers’ core going forward.

Philadelphia Flyers

Claude Giroux

Captain Claude Giroux is the heart and soul,  captaining the club since 2012-13.  Giroux is currently tenth in all-time scoring with 558 points in 630 games played in Philadelphia. Giroux has six years left in his $66,200,000 million dollar deal that carries $8,275,000 cap hit with a full no-movement clause.

Jake Voracek

Voracek leads the Philadelphia Flyers in scoring with 47 points in 56 games. Voracek, like Giroux is locked in with a big contract with eight years left on a $66,000,000 million dollar deal that carries $8,250,000 cap hit.

"Voracek is crucial to the success of Claude Giroux. Two seasons ago, they were one of the top scoring duos in the NHL. That chemistry needs to come back, because the Flyers will be relying heavily on their two main men, especially with the lack of scoring on the third and fourth lines. Wayne Simmonds

“Wayne Train”, a key member of the Flyers who brings leadership, physicality and goal scoring. Simmonds leads the Flyers in goals scored, 23 and points shared at 4.8 this season. The Toronto, Ontario native also leads the Philadelphia Flyers in takeaways at 30 on the year and has the best cost per point in the top six at $69,737, excluding Travis Konecny (rookie contract). The 28-year-old is a steal of deal making less than $4,000,000 million a season.

Brayden Schenn

At just 25 years old, the Flyers hope Brayden Schenn will be a part of the Philadelphia Flyers for many years to come. General Manager Ron Hextall resigned the 6’1, 195 pound winger to a 4 year, $20,500,000 million dollar contract that carries $5,125,000 cap hit. Schenn sits fourth in team scoring, 35 points in 53 games played, second in goals scored with 16 goals

Sean Couturier

Sean Couturier, at age 24 has already played in 390 career games in the City of Brotherly Love. Couturier is a true shutdown center, good in the faceoff circle with a 53.1 faceoff % this season. Couts is second on the Flyers with an expected +/- of 2.0. With 6 years left at $26,000,000 that carries a  4,333,000 million dollar cap hit.  The Flyers expect Couturier to be their shutdown center for a while.

Travis Konecny

Philadelphia Flyers rookie Travis Konecny has a bright future in Philadelphia. Konecny sits sixth in team scoring with 22 points in 51 games.  The 2015 first rounder leads all Flyers in On Goals per 60 minutes at 2.8. The 19-year-old is expected to be a future star in Philadelphia.

"Konecny fills a much-needed spot for the Flyers—forward depth. He’s the most talented Philadelphia prospect at his position, and has high upside. Konecny is a versatile offensive forward. He’s a great skater with a good shot, but needs to work on his defensive play. As captain of the Ottawa 67’s, he is known for his leadership skills, and he has spent time captaining Canada during international play as well. (hockeysfuture.com)"
