Broad Street Buzz wraps up the Philadelphia Flyers Trade Value Rankings with the top ten in value. The NHL trade deadline comes to a head Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. EST.

Note: This is the third, and final, part of a three-part series. Read Part 2 (11-19) here and Part 1 (20-28) here.

10. Travis Sanheim, Years Left: RFA, Cap Hit: $863,333

Teams love big, offensive defenseman that aren’t lost in their own zone, and that’s Sanheim. He was a first-round pick in 2014, but should be worth more now. He’s continued to improve ever since Rick Wilson was named assistant coach and Dave Hakstol was fired. That improvement should only continue.

9. James van Riemsdyk, Years Left: 4, Cap Hit: $7 million

JvR was one of the tougher players to rank on this list because it’s always hard to judge how teams value players signed long term. Four more years isn’t too much, but it does take van Riemsdyk to 33 years old — out of the peak years for forwards. That’s still definitely doable for a lot of NHL teams — and JvR has helped his case with 25 points this year –but his contract is tough for most teams that view themselves as contenders.

8. Travis Konecny, Years Left: RFA, Cap Hit: $894,167

In today’s NHL with speed and skill at the top of every team’s direction, Konecny is the perfect player. He knows what to do with the puck and has shown he’s a great complement to a team’s best players. The Flyers probably would have liked a bigger step from the 21 year old this year, but it’s not enough to scare off teams.

7. Jake Voracek, Years Left: 5, Cap Hit: $8.25 million

The Czech Republic native could be higher on this list, but the years left on his deal precludes a lot of teams from making a deal for Voracek. The salary’s fair, especially with the rising salary cap, but it’s still a lot of money. Point blank, the Flyers could move the 29 year old if they wanted to, but he might not be as valuable as some of the younger players on the roster.

6. Nolan Patrick, Years Left: 1, Cap Hit: 925K (before bonuses)

Much like last season, Patrick has turned it on in the second half. In the last 10 games, the 20-year-old has nine points, including a couple game-winners. But like Konecny, most expected Patrick to reach a higher level this season. However, he’s still young and this recent stretch has warranted plenty of hope.

5. Shayne Gostisbehere, Years Left: 4, Salary: $4.25 million

Gostisbehere has one of the best contracts on the team — and he could be higher on this list — but the yo-yo-ing seasons he’s been having has to worry some teams. 2015-16 and 2017-18 were great years for the 25-year-old, but 2016-17 and this season have been trying years. Not incidentally, the Flyers have struggled in Gostisbehere’s poor years. At worst, the American is a second-pairing blueliner that can man a power-play unit. At best, he’s good for 60-plus points. That’s still a high floor and ceiling that would interest plenty of teams.

4. Carter Hart, Years Left: 2, Salary: $730,833

The goalie that’s helped salvage this Flyers season finds himself very high on this list after just 17 NHL games. That’s how good Hart has been. He has the makings of a franchise netminder and at-worst a starter. Of course, some teams will mark up a portion of Hart’s success to the opposition not being familiar with him, but Philly would ask for a lot in return for the 20-year-old.

3. Sean Couturier, Years Left: 3, Salary: $4.33 million

On the surface, it seems like Couturier’s not having the offensive year that he had last season, but just look at the stats and you see 45 points in 52 games. Match that with Couturier’s top-notch defensive skills and a cap hit less than $4.5 million and a top three spot only makes sense for the 26 year old.

2. Claude Giroux, Years Left: 3, Salary: $8.275 million

Unlike a lot of the veterans on this list, Giroux finds himself close to the top because his contract still has good value. At 31 years old, the captain shows no signs of slowing down and is still scoring at over a point-per-game. Three years isn’t too long and an $8 million cap hit isn’t too high as more players cross into eight-digit cap hits.

1. Ivan Provorov, Years Left: RFA, Salary: $894,167

Maybe I’m shocking some people by having Provorov rank first with the season he’s having. The 22-year-old has surely had his struggles and he won’t put up anywhere near his 17 goals and 44 points from last season, but teams would have to sell the farm to pry Provorov out of Philly. The Flyers still expect him to be their number-one defenseman and have to like the small bounceback Provorov’s had under Wilson as assistant coach. The Flyers will be banking on a return to form for Provorov and would expect any other team to pay for that also.
