The Philadelphia Flyers mascot has created a playlist to help you enjoy the summer season, because why not?

Since his arrival back in September of 2018, Gritty has blessed Philadelphia Flyers and hockey fans everywhere with humorous shenanigans and a top-notch Twitter game. Whether he’s impersonated Kim Kardashian-West with a photo remake, rained down from the Wells Fargo Center rafters Shawn Michaels-style, streaked during the Flyers Stadium Series game at Lincoln Financial Field, or telling the nation how to pronounce the word “water,” Gritty never ceases to amaze the masses. Now, the orange mascot has made a playlist or mix, if you will, to help people everywhere get through the summer.

Stating that he doesn’t want us to “take this the wrong way”, Gritty produced a playlist on Spotify chock-full of hits from almost every genre. The list of songs, ranging from “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield to the Spongebob Squarepants version of “Sweet Victory” by David Glen Eisley and Bob Kulick, is described by Gritty as “TWO HOURS OF SHEER ADRENALINE (if listened to in my strategical order)” and gives a look into the music taste of the tall, furry creature. I didn’t expect Gritty to like some of the tracks that are listed but am pleasantly surprised by some of the diversity of the music, though it’s missing classic hip-hop tracks in my opinion.

I wouldn’t say some of these songs fit the season of summer but hey, who am I to judge the musical selection of the NHL’s greatest mascot? Gritty seems to be just getting started and I’m exhilarated to see what he has in store for the offseason and beyond.
