The Philadelphia Flyers goaltender has received a solid rating from the EA Sports Video game.
The 2019-20 NHL season is just around the corner, and that means NHL 20 will be soon to follow. For those who don’t know, NHL 20 is a video game that is annually released by EA Sports every year and rates every player and overall team based on how the game views their talents. It seems Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart is one of the first players on the squad to obtain a rating, and it’s a pretty decent one.
Hart revealed on his Instagram Story that he’s been gifted an 84 overall for the upcoming year. I think this is a near-perfect rating for the 21-year-old netminder, as it’s not too high and not too low on the spectrum. Of course, many would prefer it to be in the upper 80s or 90s, but Hart wasn’t perfect last season. He had his fair share of hardships, though he found ways to work through them and post a 2.83 Goals Against Average with a .917 save percentage in 31 games, 30 of which he started in. The Flyers 2016 Second Round pick can improve his ranking with a stellar 2019-20 campaign, as EA Sports updates the rosters and overall ratings every month or so to keep the game up to date. The game itself will be available to play on September 13th.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hart increase that score, either. He’ll come into Training Camp and preseason knowing he’s on the NHL roster, which could boost is confidence, and the Flyers defense improved on paper this offseason thanks to additions by General Manager Chuck Fletcher. While I believe Hart will have a couple of rough stretches, I ultimately anticipate he’ll be able to fight past them and post quality numbers for the Flyers this next year, which in turn should see his rating raise a point or two.
