The Philadelphia Flyers forward prospect has been on fire recently with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the American Hockey League.

After getting off to a slow start in his first professional season and failing to register a point in the opening three games of 2019-20, Philadelphia Flyers prospect and Lehigh Valley Phantoms forward Morgan Frost has been nothing short of outstanding as of late against the competition in the AHL. The 19-year-old centerman has posted nine points (4 Goals, 5 Assists) in ten games with the Phantoms, leading the entire Phantoms squad in that category by at least a three-point margin.

While Frost’s success hasn’t exactly translated to a whole lot of wins for Lehigh Valley, as they rank fifth in the Atlantic Division and tie for 17th in the AHL with a 4-2-1 record, that shouldn’t diminish just how good the former Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound has been. Frost has found himself on the scoresheet in the Phantoms’ last seven games and has generated 21 shots on goal during that span, as well.

His nine points also puts him third among all AHL rookies in scoring, sitting behind only Florida Panthers wing prospect Owen Tippett and Vegas Golden Knights forward prospect Lucas Elvenes. Both Tippett and Elvenes have professional experience, though, as Elvenes spent just under two years in the SHL while Tippett saw seven games of NHL action back in 2017-18.

It’s not often that you see a rookie sit atop of their team in points in any league, but Frost has been able to do so even after his pointless streak to begin the year. It’ll be interesting to see if the 2017 first-rounder can keep up his near point-per-game pace and continue to lead the Phantoms in offensive production. If he does, Philadelphia might have to gear up for a Frost advisory coming to town sooner rather than later.
