The Philadelphia Flyers will need to be sound in all three zones as they face a skilled Boston Bruins squad.

Following a 3-2 shootout win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night, the Philadelphia Flyers will wrap up the second half of this back-to-back by taking on the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden. The Bruins have walked away with a win the last two times these two clubs have met and also took the season series from the Flyers last year. Philadelphia will look to defeat their Eastern Conference foe for the first time since October of 2018, but it certainly won’t be an easy task to accomplish.

While the Bruins enter this game riding a two-game losing streak, they’re still one of the best all-around teams the NHL has to offer. Boston ranks Top 10 in Even Strength Goals For (41), total Goals For (58), Power Play Percentage (30.91%), Goals Against (39), and Save Percentage (.922) while also sitting 12th in Penalty Kill Percentage with 84.00%. What I’m trying to say is, they’re a pretty freaking good hockey squad. The Flyers must bring an all hands on deck effort if they want their best shot at defeating the Atlantic Division leader and extending their winning streak to four.

Carter Hart is set to receive the start from Head Coach Alain Vigneault and will oppose Jaroslav Halak. Flyers fans should be all too familiar with Halak’s name, as he’s found solid success when facing the Orange Black throughout his career. The journeyman goaltender has posted a 2.39 Goals Against Average with a .917 save percentage in 17 games against the Flyers during his 14-year NHL tenure. Halak has struggled a bit as of late, though, allowing four goals in each of his last three starts. Philadelphia needs to keep the 34-year-old down on his luck and send plenty of pucks his way early and often.

Puck drop is set for 7 pm EST.
