Everything you need to know ahead of the Philadelphia Flyers matchup with the Montreal Canadiens.

Fresh off of a 6-1 blowout win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday, the Philadelphia Flyers will finish out this round of back-to-backs by facing the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. The Flyers took the first meeting between the two Eastern Conference squads earlier this month, defeating the Habs by a score of 3-2 in overtime. They’ll hope for more of the same this time around and to clinch the season series with a win tonight.

This game will also see one of two long streaks come to an end when all is said and done. Philadelphia enters this game riding a three-game winning and seven-game points streak, having earned a point in every game since November 21st. Montreal, however, has lost its last six games, most recently falling to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. The Flyers will have to capitalize on a lowly Canadiens squad if they want to finish out the holiday week with another W, and one way they can help themselves do so is to continue to convert offensively.

Not only does Montreal come into this game allowing the second-highest amount of Goals-Against with 89 in 25 games, but they’ve given a total of 20, yes 20, tallies in their last three games. That averages out to over six goals per game, which, according to sources, is very bad. Philly must replicate what they did against Detroit and exploit another weak defensive squad in the Habs.

Flyers Betting Odds And Lines:

Courtesy of The Action Network, the Flyers are a +132 on the MoneyLine while the Canadiens are a -145. I’m a little surprised that Montreal is considered the favorite in this one since they have done a whole lot of losing lately, but I guess the oddsmakers like the fact that the Habs are still heavily outshooting their opponents at even strength.
