The Philadelphia Flyers winger will be a player to keep an eye on as the Philadelphia Flyers face-off with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Following a forgettable 5-3 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on New Year’s Eve, the Philadelphia Flyers were hoping to start the year of 2020 off on the right foot by securing a win over the Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena. This game will mark the final time these teams will meet during the 2019-20 regular season, as the Flyers took the W in their first matchup at the Wells Fargo Center in October. Carter Hart is expected to get the start coming off a 13 save on 14 shot performance in relief of Brian Elliott against LA.

Among all of the players to watch for the Flyers tonight, the guy I’m keying in on the most is Jakub Voracek. The Czech forward has quietly been one of Philadelphia’s most consistent offensive threats recently, earning a point in six of his last seven games. This hot stretch has now put Voracek in sole possession of second in scoring on the team and on pace for his fourth consecutive 60+ point campaign. It also helps that Jake’s found success against the Knights in the past, too, netting four assists in five career games opposing the Pacific Division squad.

As a side note, it seems Head Coach Alain Vigneault will change up the combos and pairings for this evening’s game if his lines from Wednesday’s morning’s practice are any indicator. He kept the top line and pairing of Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, Voracek, Ivan Provorov and Matt Niskanen the same, but switched up just about everything else.

The most notable changes came on the defensive side of things where Shayne Gostisbehere will now share the second pair with Justin Braun and Travis Sanheim will slot in alongside Philippe Myers. We’ll have to see if everything holds the same when the puck drops but for those who want to see the rest of the full lineup, click here.
