The Philadelphia Flyers can’t let themselves underestimate the Detroit Red Wings as the two teams face off tonight.

Coming off of an impressive 6-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night, the Philadelphia Flyers will look to ignite another winning streak as they hit the road to play the Detroit Red Wings. The Flyers were able to walk away with a relatively easy W the last time these sides faced off, blowing out the Red Wings by a score of 6-1 on Black Friday. They’ll obviously aim to do more of the same this time around and earn their 11th road win of 2019-20.

While the Red Wings don’t pose as much of threat on paper, sitting with 28 points heading into this Eastern Conference clash, Philadelphia still can’t overlook them as a whole. No win should be considered a guarantee in this league and even though the Flyers have over double the number of wins than Detroit at this stage, it doesn’t mean they should come in, go through the motions, and head back home with two easy points. Even now, the Red Wings have guys like Dylan Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi who can strike at a moment’s notice, making it important for the Orange and Black to hone in and treat this game as crucial as it should be this late in the year.

As for who’s starting in-net, Brian Elliott is projected to get the nod after Alex Lyon went against the Avalanche on Saturday. If he does indeed make the start, the man they call Moose will try to obtain his fourth win in his last five starts and 13th overall on the season.
