The Philadelphia Flyers will need to step up in both ends as they face the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road.

Rounding out a three-game road trip that’s seen them take two points out of a possible four, the Philadelphia Flyers will visit the Amalie Arena to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. If you can recall, Tampa was able to get the W against the Flyers in their first meeting this season, shutting out the Orange and Black by a score of 1-0 back in January. Philly will aim for a more successful performance and outcome to even the season series at one while earning an ever-so-important two points in a tight Eastern Conference playoff race.

You may or may not have heard this before but, the Lightning are a pretty darn good hockey team. Tampa Bay enters this contest tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs in total Goals For with 204 in 58 games played, averaging out to 3.5 goals tallies per night. They’re led by superstar forwards Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos offensively, who are each averaging over a point per game in 2019-20. The Lightning also are statistically one of the better defensive squads in the league, as well, allowing the fifth least amount of total Goals Against. Taking all of that into consideration, Philadelphia’s going to need to be sound in both ends if they want to finish this trip with a victory, which will be easier said than done.

It’s been confirmed that Carter Hart will get the start for the Fly Guys this evening, which will be his 35th appearance for the club this year. Hart’s aiming to obtain his second-straight win following a stellar 26 save performance against the Florida Panthers and first ever against Tampa.
