The two newest faces on the Philadelphia Flyers roster are set to make their debuts for the team as they take on the San Jose Sharks tonight.

Fresh off of the heels of an eventful 2020 NHL Trade Deadline, the Philadelphia Flyers will return to action following a two-day break to play host to the San Jose Sharks at the Wells Fargo Center. This will mark the second and final time these two squads meet during the regular season, with the Flyers falling to the Sharks in San Jose by a score of 6-1 back in December. Philly will hope to avenge that blowout loss this evening while also earning their fourth-straight win in the process.

General Manager Chuck Fletcher kept himself busy during Monday’s deadline, bringing three new skaters to the Flyers organization. Two of them will make their debuts for Philadelphia tonight, as Derek Grant and Nate Thompson are expected to play in this matchup with the Sharks. Grant and Thompson, who were acquired from the Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens, should add solid two-way presences to Philly’s forward group and provide them with more depth throughout the lineup. Both are likely to slot in on the Bottom-6 and enter for Connor Bunnaman and Joel Farabee, who were sent back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms yesterday.

Receiving the nod from Head Coach Alain Vigneault between the pipes will be none other than Carter Hart. The 21-year-old netminder will try to follow up two tremendous performances in his previous couple of starts, allowing less than two goals in each of those two contests. Hart’s aiming for his third consecutive victory and 20th overall on the season for the Orange and Black.

Puck drop is set for 7 pm EST. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Philadelphia or NBC Sports California.
