With players and fans alike in a self-quarantine, Kevin Hayes took to Instagram to answer some Flyers fans questions.

We’re now about a week into the suspension of the NHL. Players have been able to return to their homes until further notice. Kevin Hayes took the opportunity to open his Instagram story to questions from Flyers fans and apparently some players as well.

Since Instagram stories disappear after 24 hours, you won’t be able to see his answers for long. But don’t worry if you missed it, the Flyers have you covered.

So let’s talk about some of his answers and get to know Hayes a little better.

No surprise the first question was about Hayes’ favorite thing about playing in Philadelphia. Of course, he made sure to shout out the fans in his response.

For those cheesesteak aficionados out there, Hayes loves Angelos. He also lets fans know that his go-to order seems to be “The Tony Head.” For those unfamiliar, according to their menu, that is a cheesesteak or chicken cheesesteak made on fresh garlic bread. Definitely an interesting bread to have it on. He gave some more love to Philly later on, shouting out Double Knot as his favorite restaurant in the city.

We’re pretty sure Ivan Provorov tossed a question out there. Or at least Hayes’ gave a nod to him when answering a question that was asked in Russian. It wasn’t the only moment Hayes gave some teammates a shoutout. Immediately following that, Michael Grabner appeared to chime in and asked Hayes how much he missed him on a scale of 1-10. Turns out it’s a lot as Hayes answered with a 9.9.

He tossed out some big compliments when asked who had the best hands out of anyone he’s played with. Johnny Gaudreau was the first name he tossed out. The two played together at Boston College from Hayes’ sophomore year through his senior season. On a line with Gaudreau, Hayes actually had his best season, earning a top-ten Hobey Baker Award nomination.

Paul Carey was another name Hayes mentioned, a teammate of his during his freshman and sophomore season. And when asked his favorite song, he put some tags in there for former Rangers teammates Brady Skjei and Jimmy Vesey. Hayes is clearly a man of the people.

If you wanted a look into the Flyers locker room, Hayes gave you a brief idea of who chooses the music. Scott Laughton, Jakub Voracek and Hayes himself are the team DJs. He also considers Nolan Patrick to have the best flow amongst the team.

And of course, Hayes made sure to give his roommate a nod when asked who his favorite mascot was. We wouldn’t expect anything more. And just as we all are, Hayes can’t wait for baseball season to get here. We just hope hockey season comes back soon as well.
