It’s been over three weeks since the Flyers played a game as the season remains in a pause.

With everyone missing Philadelphia Flyers hockey and the quarantine extension in mind, let’s take a look at some of the Flyers that would be interesting to be quarantining with.

Since we don’t truly know what the day-to-day activities are for each Flyer outside the rink, this will be based on their personality, interest, and social media presence, among some other things.

In no particular order, these are the few Flyers that I think would be cool to quarantine with.

Is this really a surprise to anyone?

It’s hard to imagine Kevin Hayes not being on most Flyers fans list. Since he’s gotten here, he has been a fan favorite. As the season has gone on, he has continued to win the hearts of Philadelphia’s hockey fans with his on-ice play, off-ice personality, and locker room antics.

Hayes has undoubtedly been a great energy guy and locker room addition this year. While in Philadelphia, Hayes has really made a name for himself based off his personality and what he’s doing off the ice.

When in quarantine with Hayes, he will probably give you a nickname in true Bostonian form much like he did “Cahtah Haht”. In February, Hayes also launched his own beer called “Big Hayes-y 13”. On top of that he also used to be a referee.

Being quarantined with Hayes would probably be a lot of fun. He definitely has some cool stories to tell from his college days up to his days in the pros. He has also been on a few different teams unlike some guys on the list, so getting his opinion on each city he’s played for and how they are different is something unique and interesting.

I am not sure how great he is at video games if he plays them, but regardless of skill, he would be an entertaining player to play with. He would also be an interesting guy to watch Netflix shows like Tiger King with.

If you are an outdoorsy person, quarantining with Travis Konecny would be a really cool experience. Konecny basically grew up on a farm and naturally loves his outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, etc so there already is a talking point and some fun stories.

While we don’t know where or what he hunts/fishes, I am pretty confident that he probably has targeted a variety of species in different game lands and ponds, oceans, and other bodies of water.

If you happened to be quarantined on the farm as seen in the video, there would be plenty of things to do in the summer including fishing in the stocked pond and various things on the farm.

As many of you are aware, Konecny is a vocal guy on the ice and has become one of the league’s more notable and better chirpers. Some of us no doubt could enhance this part of our game and could learn quite a thing or two from Konecny.

While in quarantine he may be able to give us a few lines that would boost our chirp game to a point where we sound like we belong on the ice.

Even one of Konecny’s former coaches had input on his lively personality.

“I don’t want to say he’s a goofball, but he’s not afraid to mess around on the ice. Throw jokes out there, under his breath. Dry humor” – Derian Hatcher

Given the Konecny of today, I would say he hasn’t changed much from his time in juniors with Hatcher at the realm. Rather this just cements the fact that Konecny would be a fun guy to be quarantined with. He would lighten up an already unfortunate situation with his joking manner.

While he may not be Ninja, to Claude Giroux he is probably not too far off. For all of the video game fans, it seems like Scott Laughton’s go-to activity so far has been the video game grind. Something he hasn’t done in quite some time.

“I just wanted to say, I haven’t picked up an Xbox since junior” – Scott Laughton

Although it has been a bit since he played, it didn’t take him long to get back on the winning side of things at the expense of captain Claude Giroux.

It would appear that for Laughts, FIFA seems to be the game of choice. Video games aside, Laughton has been a Flyer for quite a bit of time now. With that said, he’s probably got a lot of funny stories from years past and could give some interesting insight on how he grew into his role and previous players/coaches/management he has been through since his time in Philly.

Lastly, you can’t leave out the captain, so long as living with a newborn is something you would be comfortable with. What stands out about quarantining with Giroux would be the fact that he is the only player on the roster that has suited up in the orange and black in the Stanley Cup Final. Therefore, the stories and insight Giroux could give about his time during the Final would be very interesting.

Since Giroux was still a very younger player, discussing with him how he was able to be a factor and develop his game throughout the cup finals would be such an intriguing conversation. Other stories include how he grew into his role and what it felt like to get the captaincy and any changes it has had on him or his outlook on the game.

Lastly, it would to fun to talk to Giroux about the Flyers rivalry with the Penguins and Crosby. You could also probably learn some French if that is of interest to you as well.

We want to hear from you next! Let us know which Flyers you wouldn’t mind being quarantined with!
