Oskar Lindblom has been sidelined since December when he was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. It’s great news for the Flyers forward right now.

Throughout the entire process, Oskar Lindblom has had a smile on his face the entire time. He has been through one of the worst things imaginable, but has remained his usual positive self. That positivity has radiated throughout the entire Flyers locker room.

Lindblom had been able to visit the team both in Voorhees and at the Wells Fargo Center on a few occasions. And you could tell how much it meant to everyone to see him.

Alain Vigneault has mentioned before that seeing Lindblom is the highlight of his day whenever he stops by. They haven’t been able to hug quite yet due to Lindblom’s treatments, but that time could be coming soon.

According to Flyers assistant general manager Brett Flahr, Lindblom will be receiving his final set of treatments. He has been staying in Philadelphia as he has been going to Penn throughout the year.

“Oskar’s going through his last treatments coming up here, but everything I’ve been told from Jimmy (McCrossin, the team’s trainer) has been very positive. He feels great, considering the condition he’s in. He’s such a great kid and he’s determined. His focus is to play as soon as possible.”

While this is great news, there is no word on Lindblom’s availability for next season. Getting through his final treatments will be a big step forward. He has been able to do some cardio work to stay in shape during the process.

Flahr also mentioned that the doctor’s believed that things could not have gone any better for Lindblom. That is certainly welcome news to hear. Having him back in any capacity will be a boost for the Flyers locker room.

The support for Lindblom throughout everything has been huge. The entire league has been behind him since his diagnosis.
