With a playoff format set, the Flyers would come in with the fourth best odds to come out of the Eastern Conference.

The Philadelphia Flyers were on a roll before the season was paused over two months ago. They had won nine of their last ten games, surging up the standings. They were making a push to take over the top spot in the division.

At the time of the league pause, the Flyers actually had the best odds to win the Stanley Cup. With players getting healthy on other teams, things have shifted a bit. Vegas now has them with the fourth-best odds to even come out of the conference as champions.

As seen below, the Tampa Bay Lightning come in with the best odds. Ranked fourth in the league, they are the second best team in the Eastern Conference. Their 43 wins are second only to Boston.

Speaking of Boston, they have the same odds as Tampa, despite holding the best record in the league. Their 100 points are six better than the next closest team. And they are far and away the best team in the conference.

Washington comes in third as they hold the third spot in the Eastern Conference. So their ranking on this list makes sense.

That leaves the Flyers with 6/1 odds to come out of the Eastern Conference. Their hot streak before the season’s pause could have had them higher on this list. They are looked at as a four seed currently, though, so it also makes sense betters would see them as such.

It is also clear they feel more confident with teams that have been there before.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, though. Especially with the 24-team format and play-in round. The Flyers have the chance to face a slew of different opponents. It all depends on how the league decides to sort out the seeding.

It is clear that the Flyers are seen as a contender in the East. Not only by current players, but by outsiders as well.
