Bobby Brink and Cam York will both be suiting up and representing the Flyers at World Junior Simmer Showcase

The United States announced the 43 players that will be invited to the 2020 World Junior Summer Showcase. Two Flyers prospects will get another chance to stand out on the US Squad.

Bobby Brink was among the 25 forwards chosen. Cam York was one of 14 defend men named to the squad. The Summer Showcase’s evaluation camp will be held July 24th-August 1st. It will take place at the USA  Hockey Arena in Michigan.

The camp serves as an evaluation period for players to earn a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team. The team will compete in the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship. That event begins in December.

This won’t be the first time that York and Brink have represented the United States before. While posting 16 points in 30 games for Michigan, York appeared in five games during the WJC-20.

He posted no point, a far cry from what he did a season prior. It starting with the USNTDP in the USHL. York posted 33 points in 28. He moved on to the U.S. National U18 Team. There he posted a record 65 points in 61 games.

He also shined for the U18 Team during the WJC-18. York collected 11 points in seven games. With an impressive freshman season, he should have a chance to hold a bigger role on the squad.

Brink’s experience with the U.S.A squad is a bit less than York. His first opportunity with the team came in 2017-18. He played for the U17 season in the USDP, grabbing two points in eight games.

He was given a chance on the U18 squad the following season. He was a bit better, posting six points in five games. Brink has taken part in two World Championships before.

He was a part of the same teams that York was involved with. At the WJC-18, Brink posted six points in five games. His performance was down a bit this last season. Appearing in the same amount of game, Brink grabbed just two points.

He did have a strong season to begin his NCAA career. For the University of Denver, Brink grabbed 11 goals and 24 points in 28 games.

Having appeared for the team before, Brink and York have a good shot at making the final squad come December.
